MORPRIME Industries™ teamed up with our family over at @hanonshop to celebrate the launch of @asics_sportstyle GEL LYTE III ‘A History of Colour’. This iteration pays tribute to ASICS love for vibrancy running in tandem with technical brilliance. So, what made the GLIII so revolutionary? Find out below, in one of our three-part instalments...
1990 marked the year that one of, if not arguably the most iconic silhouette ASICS ever released became publicly available. Recognised globally due to its well-renowned split tongue feature, reflective eyes, heel patch patch and tri-density midsole – the GEL-Lyte III adopted a very different approach to what was commonly accepted as runner etiquette. Birthed by Shigeyuki Mitsui, his inspiration was drawn from the idea of creating athletics’ ‘ultimate performance running shoe’, hence replicating 1989’s LD-Racer split-tongue aesthetic. This was a firm selling point, adding to the comfort of three separate foam densities encapsulating elements of Taica’s Alpha GEL system.
Once ASICS intricate process of manufacturing is complete, a fleet of MORPRIME Industries™ courier choppers escort the high-profile cargo across treacherous terrains en route from their top secret Japanese distribution centre - where shall this journey end?
